SENATOR’s annual progress meeting in Dublin: Advancing urban logistics and mobility

An Post hosted the gathering on the 26 and 27 October in its headquarters in the Smart Docklands District

On September 26-27, 2023, the SENATOR project marked a significant milestone in its mission to improve urban logistics and mobility during its third Annual Progress Meeting. Hosted by An Post, Ireland’s national postal services provider and a key partner in the SENATOR project, the event brought together prominent companies, institutions, and universities from the transport and mobility sector. An Post hosted the gathering at their headquarters in the cutting-edge Smart Docklands District, promising insightful discussions and collaborations aimed at shaping the future of urban transportation.

Collaborative progress meeting

A highlight of the event was a live demonstration in Dublin showcasing loading bay sensors, which were installed as a part of the Smart Loading Bay Pilot. These sensors provide real-time data on bay availability for deliveries, enabling delivery companies like An Post to streamline their operations. Effective loading bay management in cities like Dublin can significantly reduce traffic congestion, emissions, and improve traffic flow, benefiting both businesses and fostering a more sustainable and liveable urban environment.
